Welcome Freshmen!! (Description of an event)

In our University we as students have a very especial event caller "Apadrinamiento", in which every second-year students choose one freshmen to help and guide him/her through the years they will be studying.

This year was our turn to do the ceremony as sophomores, and we decided to do a "Café Convers" to enjoy a great moment and meet us each other. "Café Convers" is an event in which all students can attend, have sit and discuss what they want, of course in English; drinking juice or soda, eating cookies or chips and list
ening to music. Also, it is possible that professors and foreign students attend the event.

The event took place at the university. There, we decorated a room and when it was ready, we invited freshmen to enter and enjoy. After an hour, every second-year student took half of a picture and leave the room. The activity was simple and fun: each freshmen had to look for the sophomore who had another half to complete the photograph and thus meet his/her godfather.

I really loved the activity because it was amusing to see how one-year students were desperately looking up their godfather/godmother. I had half of two different pictures, so now I have two very nice goddaughter.

International Women's Day~

It's beautiful when a child tells his mother that he loves her and gives her a gift. Also, it's so especial when all people recognize during a whole day the essential role of the women in society. That is why nowadays we celebrate the International Women's day. But, it is really necessary just one commercial day to recognize their goals? Do we understand the meaning of this day or Do we just celebrate it because the Mass Media says? International Women's day has become a commercial day, and not all people have noticed it.

In this day, you have the opportunity to be grateful about your mother, sister, grandmother, etc. And, the best to do it is buying them a perfume, a chocolate or even a beautiful flower.

Many people feel that a gift it's all you need to demonstrate love and care; but and the other hand, few people are aware about the aware about the business behind this day. Most of the time, people cannot think that little by little they give more importance to the gift rather than the meaning of the celebration, and the meaning of the celebration, and the main responsible of this is Mass Media, because at least one week before this day, you can watch on television so many advertisement but, just two days two days after March 8th nobody cares about the celebrated day.

In my opinion, even though it is nice to feel love and receive presents, it is better if society understands the meaning of the day rather than the meaning of the gift.
